
On 23-24.05.2025, the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the University of Warsaw hosted the jubilee 10th Polish Law & Economics Conference, organized on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Polish Association of Law and Economics (PSEAP). The conference was co-organized by members of the Department participating in the authorities of PSEAP - Prof. Jacek Lewkowicz (President), Dr. Anna Lewczuk (Member of the Management Board) and Prof. Katarzyna Metelska-Szaniawska (Member of the Audit Committee).
The conference was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Economic Sciences, Prof. Gabriela Grotkowska, and PSEAP President Prof. Jacek Lewkowicz. Keynote lectures were delivered by Prof. Kathryn Spier (Harvard University) and Prof. Claudine Desrieux (Université Paris Panthéon-Assas).
The conference also included 12 parallel sessions, during which 34 papers were presented. The presentations came from various academic centers:
- 14 papers were prepared by researchers affiliated with the University of Warsaw,
- 10 papers were presented by researchers from other Polish scientific institutions,
- 10 papers were presented by scientists representing foreign research centers.

During the conference the results of Best Student Paper Prize were also announced. The awards were given to:
- 1st place: Eliza Hałatek for the paper „The relevance of central bank communication – does it really build trust?”,
- 2nd place: Jakub Ryłow for the paper „Economic Analysis of Widows’ Pensions: Regulatory Impact Perspective”,
- 3rd place: Tymoteusz Mętrak for the paper „Transition from a market to a centrally planned economy. Measuring the difference in GDP per capita”.
The event was organized by the Polish Association of Law and Economics (PSEAP) in cooperation with the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the University of Warsaw, the Centre for Economic Analyses of the Public Sector (CEAPS) at the University of Warsaw, the Jagiellonian University and the Warsaw School of Economics. The conference was co-financed by the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the University of Warsaw and by the University of Warsaw under the Excellence Initiative – Research University (IDUB) program, as well as by the University of Warsaw Foundation.
