Dr. Jacek Lewkowicz from the Department of Political Economy at WNE UW was awarded the Scholarship of the Minister of Education and Sciences for outstanding young scientists with significant achievements in scientific activities.

After a break due to the pandemic, the Department of Political Economy of the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the University of Warsaw returned to the tradition of annual off-campus meetings. This year's meeting took place on 10-11.06.2023 in Płock.

We are happy to announce that the project of Dr. Jacek Lewkowicz received funding in the Sonata 18 call organized by the National Science Center.

Dr. Anna Lewczuk from the Department of Political Economy at WNE UW is one of the awardees of the START scholarships of the Foundation for Polish Science (2023 edition).

Ph.D. Karolina Safarzyńska received funding in the NCN Sonata Bis call for the implementation of projects aimed at establishing a new research team conducting innovative basic research.

It is with deep sadness and regret that we received the news of the passing of Prof. Jerzy Wilkin - head of the Department of Political Economy in the years 1996-2014, dean of the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the University of Warsaw in the years 1996-1999, an outstanding Polish economist, a member of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

We are very happy to share the news that two research projects proposed by members of the Department of Political Economy of the Faculty of Economic Sciences, University of Warsaw, received funding in the OPUS 23 and PRELUDIUM 21 calls organized by the National Science Center.

On September 8-11, 2022, an international scientific workshop was held in Gdańsk within the Polish-German research project "Economics of compliance with constitutions", led by Prof. Katarzyna Metelska-Szaniawska, financed by the National Science Center (NCN) and Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) (Beethoven project).
